Tim Burton

Tim Burton is well known for his creative side. He is a writer, artist, director, and producer.

an imageHe certainly has his own unique style that may people find to be quite intriguing. As a result, he has created many movies with characters that people adore. Some of the top grossing films every created have been credited to Burton. His remake of Alice in Wonderland is one of the top grossing films of all time.

Burton was born in 1958, and has always had an interest in movies and art. He isn’t afraid to try something new and run with it. He has earned the respect of many in the film industry. He has also become very selective about those that play the roles of his films. He wants every part to be perfect, and that can mean a long search for the right individuals.

Many actors including Danny Elfman and Johnny Depp have high praise for Burton. They are in awe of his talent and they have been in numerous movies he has produced. They continue to be drawn into the stories that are created and emerge their acting talents into these characters that they need to become.

Burton has stated in numerous interviews that a great deal of his work has been influenced by Edgar Allen Poe. He started making short films in his backyard when he was just a kid. Many of them didn’t have any sound to them. He was also influenced by science fiction movies that he watched. Then he would create his own stories. Burton didn’t do very well in high school though, he had too much else to focus his time and attention on.

He went to the California Institute of the Arts to study in the area of character animation. This was an area of film he was very passionate about. Some of the students he went to the college with would later be collaborates on large projects, including Henry Selick.

Burton graduated in 1979 from the college, and had some great work to show for his efforts there. He got attention from Walt Disney Animation Studios for a production called Stalk of the Celery Monster. He was also asked to do animation for their Fox and the Hound production.

Burton found that his own style clashed with Disney, and he decided he would make a go of it on his own. He dabbled in small budget elements until 1985 when he was the producer for the hit Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. This was followed by the very popular Beatlejuice in 1985.

Burton continues to push the envelope away from the norm when it comes to the films he produces. Many of the movies can be interpreted in various ways and that is part of the fun. Fans can see the movie and then talk among themselves and explore what they feel really took place.
